Fishery Information The fishery contains 3 lakes. One is a 2 ¾ acre water with two islands situated in the Chelmer Valley. There are 32 permanent swims and the depths range between 4 and 15 feet. There is also a three quarter mile section of the Chelmer available, which is very under fished and has good potential, with some interesting bends and undercut banks. There is a car park and most swims are suitable for disabled anglers. There are plenty of carp to double figures together with a few pike, Tench, roach, Rudd, Crusians and some chub. The carp run to 18lbs plus and the Tench to five and a half pounds. The river has good roach, some pike, Tench, carp, perch and chub.
There is no night fishing, no keep nets, no particles or nuts and no
barbed hooks. Fishing is from 6.30am to sunset. There is no close season. How to get there. From Chelmsford take the B1008 north towards Braintree. Go past the Broomfield Hospital on the left.
